6 chances to get your pet’s photo with Santa in Hamilton
Father Christmas likes to take a break from children’s wish lists to hang out with pooches, cats and other pets to raise money for fantastic local animal rescues.
Who doesn’t want a festive photo of their dog with Santa? Or simply a holiday-themed pet pic you can add to your extensive collection? If you’re like me, you’ve got a photo — or several — of your pup decking the halls every year. In fact, I’m building toward a calendar, and my precious pooch is only five years old.
The best part is most holiday pet photo shoots are fundraisers for rescues and shelters. So, get your best buddy groomed and excited to pose pretty for the camera. Here’s a list of holiday pet photo sessions with Santa (or others) in and around Hamilton.

Nov. 15 & 16 — Pet Pics with Father Christmas for Ladybird Animal Sanctuary
Ladybird Animal Sanctuary's popular Pet Pics with Santa fundraiser is back. No prebooking required. Photos are taken on a first-come first-serve basis via a number-taking system, so please make sure your dog is OK around other dogs. Pets only in the photo, please. Cost is $25 per digital image at Clifford Brewing Co., 398 Nash Rd., #1, Hamilton, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Nov. 22 — Santa Paws Pet Photos for Bark at the Moon Animal Rescue
The Petbarn at 20 Clappison Ave., Waterdown is hosting a Santa Paws Pet Photo event as a benefit for Bark at the Moon Animal Rescue from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. No appointment is necessary, and for a $10 donation (or more) you’ll receive two to three digital photos within 72 hours of the event.
Nov. 22 — Pics with Santa thanks to Dream Team
Dream Team is hosting photos with Santa for $20 for digital images (prints available for an additional fee) at PetValu at 610 King St. W., Hamilton from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Nov. 23 — Holiday Pet Portrait Day for Help Paws Rescue
Come to PetValu for a holiday pet portrait with your dog. The cost is $30 for a 15-minute time slot and one digital image. The event is a fundraiser for Help Paws Rescue at Dundas Studio, Davidson Rd., Dundas from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Nov. 27 — Christmas Photo Day
JT Pets is hosting a Christmas Photo event. Photos are $25 each. Please call the store to book a time or take a chance that a time slot is available at JT Pets, 605 Concession St., Hamilton, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Nov. 30 — Holiday Pet Portrait Day for Help Paws Rescue
Come to PetValu at 86 Main St., Dundas, for a holiday pet portrait with your dog. Cost is $30 for a 15-minute time slot and one digital image. The event is a fundraiser for Help Paws Rescue taking place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
