Aloha says hello in Dundas

Former Norfolk Juice Co. is now the Aloha Café, serving juices, smoothies, acai bowls, and a growing list of menu items.

Sandi Stirling and Lynsay Connell are the dynamic mother-daughter duo behind Aloha Café in Dundas. Originally named Norfolk Juice Co. and a sister location to the first café in Port Dover, it was recently rebranded. Stirling says the intent was always to call it Aloha as a nod to the years Connell spent in Hawaii. The original shop in Port Dover was thriving and all the branding was already done, so it was a low-investment option to set up shop in Dundas.

“I said to Lynsay, if we survive a year, we’ll change the name.” And October 2025 marked a full year of business in Dundas, and the era of Aloha Café commenced.

Stirling is a Dundas resident, a musician, and an award-winning master sandcastle sculptor, competing in competitions across North America for many years. Known as Mama Juice to many of the regulars, you will find her behind the counter in Dundas, while Connell is at the Port Dover location most days.

While the core menu includes cold-pressed juices, smoothies, and acai bowls, new items are always being added like lattes and Americanos using Altitude coffee, sourdough avocado toast, local bagels, plus baked goods made in house like scones, muffins, and cookies.

The café prioritizes local produce, and when local options aren't available, they opt for organic fruits and vegetables. Juices are made in small batches, with a slow hydraulic press that eliminates heat being added to the process, which kills the natural enzymes.

Full disclosure: I have a serious addiction to the acai bowls at Aloha Café. The variety of textures between the smooth acai base layered with granola, delicious fresh fruit, and a drizzle of almond butter on top … it’s a meal in itself that I could literally eat every day. The café space is small but bright, comfortable and welcoming. The next time you’re in Dundas looking for a seat at one of the perpetually overflowing established cafés, take a stroll down to Aloha. The coffee is on par with any of the others, and the menu offers something both healthy and tasty.
