Supercrawl 2025 music lineup unveiled

Hamilton artists make up about half of the 65 acts announced for the Sept. 12-14 multi-art street festival on James Street North.

Supercrawl 2025 will feature 65 musical acts on three stages, including headliners Toronto-based indie rockers Born Ruffians, singer-songwriter Basia Bulat, Montreal-based cult favourites Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Toronto rapper TOBi, east coast hip hop artist Classified, and Sarnia-born Donovan Woods, along with Hamilton musicians Cadence Weapon, Steve Strongman, and Born In The Eighties.

Organizers unveiled the musical lineup for the Sept. 12-14 festival at Mills Hardware on Thursday.

According to a press release from festival presenters Sonic Unyon: “This year’s edition of Supercrawl features the most expansive roster of musical talent the festival has ever showcased, including local, regional, national and international talents — 65 acts in all, on three stages along a kilometre of James North.”

Hamilton is represented large in the 2025 lineup, including (in alphabetical order): Sean Bienhaus, The Beans, Buddah Abusah, C.A. Smith, The Commune, Council House, cute, Dammit Goldie, Eyes Like Opals, James Favron, Hamilton Children's Choir, Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, Jambassadors, Rob Lamothe, Linebeck, Los Chukos, Lost Faculty, Loversteeth, DJ Danny Miles, Minuscule, Nezqwik, Rapid Transit, Rexford Drive, Rocket and the Renegades, Shealagh Rose, $eams, ShaaMaa, Spookyguava, and Trout Lily.

The unveiling event featured a circus theme, including snow cones, hotdogs and candy floss and festival director Tim Potocic dressed up as a blue-haired clown. He said that stemmed from the vision to bring more circus performers back to Supercrawl this year, and added that the festival will feature a dunk tank where he hopes local politicians and other public figures will take turns getting wet.

He marvelled that this will be the 17th edition of the hugely popular multi-art street festival.

“It feels like it’s Year 2. It’s amazing how time flies and it’s been a wild ride.”
