The Better Days Club Summer Kickback back for second year
Music and community event kicks off the summer music festival circuit on June 6 at The Cotton Factory.
How does a summer music festival without the bugs, the heat, or the threat of rain sound?
The second annual Better Days Club Summer Kickback will feature food trucks, games, vendors, a pop-up print shop, and plenty of music inside the confines of the Cotton Factory.
“We take the energy of a summer festival into a more controlled environment,” says founder and local hip-hop artist James Favron.
“The response last year was great, so we are doing it again.”
He’s also the founder of clothing company The Better Days Club, which hosts the festival. Favron performs and invites other artists to join him. This year, that’s ParkFromCC, Sam-R, and JSAL.
“We’re also lucky to have new partnerships this year with Dr. Disc, Detour Coffee, and The Local Skate Shop.”

Favron moved to Hamilton from Toronto in 2021. After coming up with his own custom pieces to wear on stage, he launched urban lifestyle fashion brand The Better Days Club in 2024. He has since gone through the City of Hamilton’s Starter Company Plus program, and participated in the Supercrawl fashion show in 2024 and 2025.
“I’m focused on building a community, creating spaces, exploring artistic expression, and finding a community of like-minded people. This is all about community and collaboration and art.”
The brand’s name comes from a song with LT the Monk called “Better Days” that he released in 2022.
Favron says he’s inspired by the local fashion scene.
“This is lots happening on the fashion scene in Hamilton. It’s a thriving thing. There are incredible designers, creators and makers here, and a strong passion and interest in fashion in the city.”
The Better Days Club Summer Kickback is a mashup of his two worlds.
“I’m building a world I want to live in, where music is the soundtrack, fashion is the physical space. This is me getting to live my best life.”
