Share your way to dinner in Hamilton

Here are some great places across the city to visit with a big group and eat your way through the menu!

Sometimes when you go to a new restaurant, it can be hard to choose a dish from all the delicious-sounding options. One of the best ways to enjoy a meal can be to bring out a group of friends, order a bunch of items off the menu, and share them all! That way you get a little taste of everything. Luckily, there are several restaurants in Hamilton that specialize in shareable apps and tapas, and others that do them really well!

The District Tapas + Bar

The District first opened in St. Catharines in 2020, and has since expanded to an additional large restaurant on Barton Street in Hamilton. On the menu you'll find entrées and mains, but as the name suggests, you will also find a whole variety of shareable options. Dishes like prime rib bao, pork ribs with roasted sweet potato, mushroom caps stuffed with whipped ricotta and pesto, jerk duck tacos, and much more. For cocktail fans, there is a variety of creative options on the menu. Visit for brunch, too!

Berkeley North

Berkeley North is one of the few restaurants in Hamilton that has been recognized by Michelin! The airy bright space on King William feels like dining al fresco on a nice summer day. Small shareable plates on the menu include: mushroom dumplings, zesty kohlrabi salad, tuna crudo, sourdough, and more. Try the fried chicken – the crisp on it is absolutely delicious. You can also do a tasting menu for two if that's more your style.

One of the newest restaurants on the scene, Lucky Duck is the latest restaurant from chef Matt Kershaw. Reminiscent of the original Rapscallion & Co. (if you know you know), Lucky Duck has a rotating blackboard menu with creative meat and vegetable choices that have a seasonal flair. It looks as if other local chefs will be popping up there to test out some innovative blackboard menus too!

Ooey Gooey's is much more casual than some of the others on the list, but sometimes that's what the friend hangout calls for! This spot on George Street in Hess Village has regular live music events and a chill vibe. The menu has a plethora of shareable nachos with different toppings, all with creative names: Zesty Mordant, Tonawanda Nights, Ranch Against the Machine. There are also popular wing deals and the kitchen creates new wing flavours each week to try.
